A former UP minister was among two persons injured today when Samajwadi Party workers clashed with each other at a meeting held here to analyse the reasons for party's dismal show in the recent Lok Sabha polls in the district.
Akhilesh Singh, who was the SP candidate for Lok Sabha polls from Maharajganj, and his brother Kaushal Kishore Singh, a Congress MLA, were booked in connection with the clash, police said.
Some persons, attending the meet, opened fire as rival groups entered into heated arguments, police said.
Gunshots rang out at the meeting as the verbal duel soon turned violent, they said.
Former Labour minister Janardan Prasad Ojha and another person suffered injuries in the clash.
