Ex-serviceman murders brother over land dispute, arrested

An ex-serviceman allegedly shot his brother to death over a land dispute in Sundernagar town of Mandi district today, after which the accused was arrested.
Police said the incident took place this morning in Pungh locality of the town. Ex-serviceman Ashok Jamwal shot his brother Chanden after a tiff over a piece of land.
Thirty-six-year-old Chanden was rushed to a hospital by the accused and neighbours. He was declared brought dead at the hospital, after which the accused surrendered before the police.
A case was registered under IPC Section 302 (punishment for murder) and Section 25 of the Arms Act.
According to deputy superintendent of police Kulbhushan Verma, the accused was arrested and further investigation was on. The body of the deceased was handed over to relatives after post-mortem, he added.
