A number of ex-servicemen who fought in the war will participate in the celebrations, along with hundreds of NCC cadets and schoolchildren, said Major General (retired) G D Bakshi, a patron of the ex-servicemen organisation Veterans India.
Union minister V K Singh will release a book, '1971: The Fall of Dhaka', penned by Bakshi. The book gives a detailed account of the 13-day war.
The celebrations will begin in the morning of December 16 at NCC auditorium in Delhi Cantt., he said. A 45-minute documentary will be screened on the occasion.
Bakshi said that Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman might take part in the celebrations.
