Ex-Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary made JD(U) vice-president

The party named seven spokespersons and MLC Sanjay Singh has been named as Chief Spokesman of the state unit

The ruling JD(U) today announced names of state level party functionaries which included former Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary and some ex-ministers.

Chaudhary who lost to former chief minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) president Jitan Ram Manjhi has been named as the state party vice-president.

Besides Chaudhary, former ministers P K Shahi, Damodar Raut and Manoj Kushwaha also figured in the list of 11 vice-presidents of the state party unit.

The list of office bearers was released by state president Basistha Narayan Singh at a press conference.

MLAs - Lessi Singh, Ranju Geeta and Naushad Alam, all ministers in previous JD(U) government but did not find place in the present government of JD(U), RJD and Congress, are among 14 general secretaries of the state unit.

MLC Ranbir Nandan remains Treasurer of the state JD(U).

The party named seven spokespersons and MLC Sanjay Singh has been named as Chief Spokesman of the state unit.

Niraj Kumar, Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, Ajay Alok, Nawal Sharma, Bharti Mehta and Nikhil Mandal are the other spokespersons.

The party named 61 people, including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, as members of the state executive.

Senior ministers Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Rajiv Ranjan Singh Lallan, Shrawan Kumar, Jay Kumar Singh, RCP Singh and Shyam Rajak find place in the list of state executive.

Mohammad Yunus Hussain Hakim has been named as head of minorities cell while Shashi Bhusan Hazari will be chief of SC and ST wing.

The JD(U) also named district presidents of the party's state unit.
