Exports of ayurvedic, homeopathy products up: govt

There is growing global acceptance of ayurveda, homeopathy, naturopathy and holistic treatment products from India and their exports fetched Rs 2267.5 crore in 2013-14, government told the Rajya Sabha today.
Health Minister Harsh Vardhan acknowledged the contribution of private sector and said it was particularly successul in states like Karnataka and Kerala in promoting and generating revenue from foreign countries for these products.
The exports were worth Rs 1279.79 crore in 2010-11 and has been steadily growing, he said.
