Extreme humidity persists in Delhi

Extremely sultry conditions persisted in the national capital a few days after light rains were experienced in the city.
Humidity continued to remain on the higher side, and was recorded between 56 and 89 per cent, causing extreme discomfort to Delhiites.
The day temperature was rose by 1.6 degrees from yesterday's maximum to 36.5 degrees Celsius, three notches above the normal, a MeT official said.
The minimum was recorded at 26.6 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year. Yesterday, the minimum was recorded at 25.8 degrees Celsius.
Overcast conditions prevailed throughout the day as scanty to light rainfall was recorded in some parts of the city till morning.
"The city did not witness any rainfall till 5.30 pm. The Safdarjung observatory had recorded traces of rainfall and Palam area received 44.1 mm rainfall up to 8.30 am today," the official said.
The weatherman has predicted generally cloudy sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to hover around 37 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.
