More than 100 persons have got back their eye sight in the past about eight months, thanks to the Ispat Drushti Daan Eye Bank of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP).
The eye bank was made operational at Ispat General Hospital (IGH) of RSP in April 2014, as a part of the hospital corneal retrieval programme (HCRP), RSP said in a release.
The project is being implemented in association with Drusthi Daan, an NGO eye bank, it said.
In November 2014, RSP's CEO G S Prasad presented a cheque of Rs 17,77,500 to Dr K C Padhi, Director of Drusti Daan for purchasing new equipment for the Eye Bank.
