Faizabad Agri University's V-C suspends registrar, professor

The Vice Chancellor of Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and Technology here toady issued suspension orders of varsity's registrar and a senior professor for their alleged involvement in a recruitment scam.
Registrar Dr P K Gupta and Head of Agriculture Expansion department Professor R K Dohre were suspended for their alleged involvement in the scam in which about 50 varsity teachers were appointed and promoted without following the university rules and norms, varsity sources said.
Dr Gupta was the then Director, Administration and Professor R K Dohre was Administrative Officer of the varsity, and both were on the key positions of taking final decisions of appointment and postings, they said.

The assessment for promotion and appointment was done in the year 2013.
Gupta who was presently Registrar of the University (now suspended) was also the care taker V-C of the University for a long time.
Akhtar Haseeb, the V-C of the University, told PTI that, "the Governor and Chancellor of the University has ordered the probe in the said scam, after the investigation is being conducted, as per the instruction from the Governor House, the action has been taken against those who were allegedly found to be responsible for the scam".
