Fake currency notes of over 24 lakh seized, 1 arrested

One person was today arrested from Meerut district with fake Indian currency notes with face value of over Rs 24 lakh, police said.
Akhtar Hussain was arrested from Noornagar locality in Brahmpuri area by the police on a tip off with fake currency of face value of Rs 24.07 lakh, they said.
During interrogation, Hussain told police that he had brought the fake currency from Malda, West Bengal and was going to deliver it in Meerut.
The police is probing the matter and trying to elicit more information from him.
