Fake currency notes seized in Malda, 1 held

One person was arrested from English Bazar police station area here after fake Indian currency notes were seized from his possession, police said today.

The 23-year-old man carrying counterfeit notes with a face value of Rs 3.94 lakh was taken into custody from Rathbari locality late last night.

All the fake notes were in the denomination of Rs 2000, police said.

Investigation started to find out from where the arrested man got the counterfeit notes and to whom he was supposed to deliver them, police said.
