Fake currency notes seized, two persons arrested

Special Cell of Delhi Police has seized fake Indian currency notes of the face value of Rs 3 lakh which were smuggled into the country through Bangladesh border and arrested two persons.
A team of Special Cell working under supervision of ACP Govind Sharma was working to bust the syndicate of FICN racketeers for some time.
On a specific input, the police team laid a trap at Jharodha Kalan road and caught Sajjan Sharma (32), on the evening of October 25. Fake notes of the face value of Rs 2 lakh in 1000 denomination were seized from him.
During interrogation, Sajjan gave up the name of a key member of the gang Narender (42), who was apprehended near MDR public school on the same day. His search led to seizure of fake notes of the face value of Rs 1 lakh.

Narender was kingpin of the gang who received the FICN from Mohmmad Samayul of New Farkaa, Malda in West Bengal.
Narender has over a dozen criminal cases against him in his home state Haryana. He was arrested thrice in connection with FICN trafficking from Hisar, Faridabad and Rohtak in 2015.
During interrogation, the accused told police that members of this syndicate keep changing their hideouts and places of delivery very frequently to avoid getting caught by the police.
Both were circulating the fake notes in the busy markets of Delhi and NCR. Sajjan was jailed for two years in a case of rape and an attempt to murder case was also regsitered against him at Dadri, added the officer.
