Fake currency valed at Rs 10 cr seized, one arrested

Fake currency valued at about Rs 10 crore was seized from a middle-aged person in Howrah district today, following which he was arrested, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Special Task Force of the Kolkata Police raided a house at Domjur of Howrah district and seized fake currencies of different foreign countries including US Dollar, Turkey Lira, Zimbabwean dollar besides Indian rupee, they said.
"We have arrested one person from whose house the fake currency, which is close to Rs 10 crore, was seized. We are are yet to ascertain the face value of the fake foreign currencies," a senior official said today.
