Good batting, bowling and fielding aside, Sunrisers Hyderabad mentor Krishnamachari Srikkanth today said the "energy" generated by the prayers of the team's fans in Andhra Pradesh will guide it to the Pepsi IPL semifinals.
"...We are confident of making it to the semi-finals. I always believe in prayers of people of Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh, I am sure that energy will keep us going and keep winning," he told reporters here on the sidelines of an event.
After faltering for some time, the Sunrisers are back in the reckoning after back-to-back wins.
"We are very happy with the way things are going. One good thing is the team spirit is very high. With Shikhar Dhawan coming in, batting is also looking strong and nice. The atmosphere in the dressing room is excellent," he said.
"The most important thing is, every individual, be it the players or support staff, are very passionate about doing well for Sunrisers Hyderabad. With the grace of god and prayers of Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh, we are confident of coming to the semifinals," he said.
Dhawan led the team to a thrilling victory in their last match against the Mumbai Indians by his unbeaten knock of 73 runs.
Sunrisers have 12 points from 10 matches and is currently positioned at the middle of the points table.
