Days after courting controversy for her tweets targeting the homeless in connection to the verdict given to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, jewellery designer Farah Ali Khan has apologised for her comments.

Salman was pronounced guilty in the 2002 hit-and-run case on Wednesday and Farah had taken to twitter to criticise the judgement and also drew analogies between people sleeping on the footpath and people crossing the railway tracks.

Farah was slammed on the social media by users as well as few Bollywood celebrities for her insensitivity and she today apologised via the micro-blogging site.

Bombay High Court has suspended 49-year-old Salman's five-year sentence in the hit-and-run case.
