Farmer attacked by Elephant

In the second such attack, a farmer was today injured after an elephant attacked him at a village in Denkanikottah taluk, officials said.
A herd of ten elephants chased him but he escaped with injuries.
Yesterday, a woman was injured after an elephant attacked her at a hamlet in the taluk.
Both the injured were admitted to the Hosur Government Hospital and are out of danger, hospital sources said.
According to Forest Department sources, three herds, comprising 108 elephants, were roaming in and around Denkanikottah, Hosur and Soolagiri areas in the district during the past couple of months.
The Forest Department are engaged in chasing them into the forests with the support of the locals.
