Farmers attempt to immolate themselves, arrested

Two farmers were today arrested in Shamli when they tried to immolate themselves to press their demand of payment of cane dues and increasing the price of cane, police said here.
Samarpal SIngh and Lokendra Singh were arrested when they poured kerosene to immolate themselves in front of Shamli Collectorate to press their demands, they said, adding that both of them were later sent to jail.
