Farmers' cane arrears: UP Cong to hold protest demonstrations

Uttar Pradesh Congress will hold protests in Basti and Muzaffarnagar districts in support of their demand for proper cane prices and payment of arrears due to cane farmers, on October 17 and 18.
A decision to this effect was taken at the meeting of district and city unit presidents here attended by in charge of the party in UP Madhusudan Mistry and UPCC chief Nirmal Khatri, party media in charge Satyadev Tripathi said.
Mistry and Khatri will lead both the protest demonstrations, he said.
In his address, Mistry stressed on strengthening the party at the grassroots level and asked for constituting centres for listening people problems in every district.
