A 45-year-old man and his son were charred to death in a fire in Bhang Chiri village in the district, police said today.
Sohan Singh and his 21-year-old son died yesterday after getting trapped in the fire that broke out in the fields they were working in, they said.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, police added.
The villagers staged a protest by placing the bodies in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office and demanded Rs 10 lakh compensation for each of the victims.
However, the bodies were cremated after the villagers got an assurance from the authorities.
