This would be Fatima's second Bollywood film after her successful debut last year as wrestler Geeta Phogat in the Nitesh Tiwari-directed movie. Aamir played her on-screen father, Mahavir Singh Phogat.
The Yash Raj Films project will be helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who earlier directed Aamir, 52, in "Dhoom 3".
"The role of the girl is pivotal to the film so it was crucial for us to find the perfect fit. Through a rigorous round of auditions and action workshops, we found in Fatima a truly dedicated actor and a gifted performer of action. We are very happy to have found the perfect girl for our film," Acharya said in a statement.
The filming begins next month with a release date set for Diwali 2018.
