FC Goa's U-12 Grassroots Tourney to begin on Feb 14 in Mupasa

FC Goais set to host its U-12 Grassroots Tournament on Sunday at Duler Stadium, Mapusa.
FC Goa's U-12 Grassroots Tournament is a unique grassroots program for budding talent across the state.
"The tournament would witness participation from 16 of FC Goa's Grassroots Centres across Goa and is conceived exclusively for kids up to the age of 12 years," an official release said today.
The tournament will also aid the participating school teams in their bid to kickstart their preparations for the Indian Super League Grassroots Festival, which is slated to be held on April 4, 2016, the release said.
Arjuna Awardee Brahmanand Sankhwalkar,who has been invited as the special guest, said, "This is a great opportunity for the kids to play in a competitive and organized environment. They will learn from the experiences and it will hold them in good stead going forward."

"What is also excellent is that FC Goa is focusing its initiatives on the younger age-groups as well and looking to nurture talent from a young age rather than just adding the finishing touches," he said.

"The grassroots program helps find and nurture kids at the grassroots level and to improve the talent pool for the U-14 teams for the coming years," the release added.
