Female elephant found dead with bullet injuries

Carcass of an 8-year-old female elephant was found with bullet injuries here today, forest officials said.
The carcass was found inside a coffee plantation on the Chethalyat range of forests under South Wayanad forest division this morningduring patrolling, they said.
During the autopsy three lead bullets were recovered from the skull of the elephant.
An investigation is this connection is underway, the officials said.
