The carcass of the female leopard was spotted along Junona-Karwa-Ballarpur Road, indicating that the big cat could have been run over by a vehicle.
Chief Conservator of Forests (Chandrapur Division), Sanjay Thakre said the feline had suffered severe head injury due to the impact and might have managed to crawl to the roadside before it collapsed.
So far, three leopards and a tiger have found dead.
