The 32-year-old Oscar-winning actress was speaking at the world premiere of 'Thor: The Dark World' in London's Leicester Square and said that women's roles are often just a fantasy of a male writer, reported Showbiz spy.
"I don't think that's necessarily feminist to see women like we see men in movies. Just having a range of different ways women can be... Weak and strong... Just being real is more feminist than 'she knows how to do kung fu'," she said.
However, Portman revealed that she loves living in Hollywood.
"I just really really love it here. It's one of the most exciting places to be in the world right now. It's really central in terms of the arts.
