FIEO team to visit Maldives

A delegation of Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) will be visiting Maldives from April 27 to April 29 to explore the possibility of boosting trade opportunities and joint ventures.
The team to be headed by FIEO Regional Chairman A Sakthivel, will comprise exporters, importers and investors in various sectors including construction, processed food, textiles and garments, home appliances, fashion accessories, home furnishing, healthcare service, a release said today.
Apart from participating in the "Happy Ramdan 2017 - B2B Meet Cum B2C Exhibition" to be held at Male, the delegation will meet members of Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) and leading industry and trade representatives to explore possibilities of investment, joint ventures and trade opportunities, Sakthivel said.

The expo will showcase Indian products and services and would be open to the public.
The delegation's agenda includes finding ways and means to improve trade and investment opportunities in the field of infrastructure, textiles, food and electronics, the release said.
India is also eyeing Maldives for investments especially in infrastructure and tourism, Sakthivel said and added that trade between the two nations USD183.38 Million in 2015 and USD 159.13 Million in 2016 (April to January).
