The issue to enhance economic activity and increase exports from the state was discussed during a meeting between West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra and FIEO members.
Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) President Ganesh Kumar Gupta said that the organisation would set an agenda for the state by identifying new areas of exports and "suggest means to strengthen traditional sectors of exports through upgradation of skills and technology".
"FIEO would like to work with the state to identify export-centric manufacturing," he said in a statement.
