FIR against four for giving VIP numbers to stolen vehicles

An FIR has been registered against four persons, including a clerk of the Transport Department, for allegedly allocating VIP numbers to stolen vehicles, an official said today.
According to Additional Road Transport Officer Udayveer Singh, the matter of giving VIP numbers to 15 vehicles stolen from different parts of the state had come to the fore.
Prima facie the matter was found to be true and an FIR has been lodged against clerk Subhash Kumar and three others at Fatehgarh police station, Singh said.
All the four accused are on the run, he said, adding that a probe into the matter is on.
