FIR lodged in attempt to rape case on direction of court

More than three months after some men allegedly attempted to rape a woman, police have now lodged a complaint against the accused on the direction of a court here.
According to the victim, the accused Jafaruddin, a resident of Kotwali city, allegedly barged into her house along with two other men when she as alone on December 9, last year.
They attempted to rape her and when she resisted, they assaulted her, she alleged. The woman managed to reach the police station but the police refused to lodge and FIR, she claimed.
The woman claimed that she also filed an application with the SSP but to no avail following which she approached the local court.
The court then directed the police to lodge an FIR.
The FIR was filed yesterday yesterday against Jafruddin and two others, according to Station House Officer Sheovir Singh.
Noarrest hasbeen made so far, police added.
