Fire at Kolaghat thermal power station

A fire broke out at the Kolaghat Thermal Power station this evening.
"A power transformer caught fire in the plant. We are concerned. But, there has been no impact in the generation till now," plant GM Pulok Roy said.
The fire was detected at around 5.15 PM.
Fire fighting has begun by the internal safety officials and fire department has been intimated, he said.
Kolaghat Thermal Power station is a major power generating station for the state owned by the West Bengal Power Development Corporation.
