The blaze erupted at around 1.12 PM and five water tankers, one bulldozer and two water engines were deployed to douse the flames, officials of the Disaster Control department of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai said.
The fire, which is yet to be put-out, was seen in certain areas of the dumping ground spread across a vast area, they said.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi condoled the loss of
lives in the fire tragedy.
"Very sad to learn that a fire in a garment factory in Sahibabad has claimed many lives.My thoughts & prayers are with the bereaved families", he tweeted.
