Fire breaks out in forest in Tamil Nadu

A fire today broke out in some forest areas in the Tamil Nadu's Dindigul district, a senior fire service official said.
District Fire Officer Murugan described the fire in Vadakavunji, Perumpallam and Kombaitharu areas as "minor" one, caused by dry foliage.
The fire was extinguished with the help of the locals within an hour, he said.
The officer claimed that no precious tree was damaged in the fire.
