Fire destroys cloth factory in Bhiwandi

A fire today destroyed a cloth manufacturing company in the powerloom town of Bhiwandi near here, Fire Brigade officials said.
The blaze started in Chacha Ink Company situated in Rajrajeswari Industrial compound of Sonale village at about 2.30 pm, Bhiwandi Fire Officer D N Salvi said.
At least a dozen fire engines from Bhiwandi, Thane and Kalyan were rushed to the company premises, where a large quantity of cloth was stored, and put out the inferno.
The company was closed today on account of a holiday and hence there was no casualty, he said.
The cause of the fire could not be ascertained.
