Fire in cracker godown in Tamil Nadu's Sivakasi

A godown containing crackers today caught fire at a village near here, but no one was injured, police said.
Crackers stored in the godown burst at regular intervals and fire department officials had a tough time extinguishing the blaze, police said.
Thick smoke spread to some parts of Perappati village following the fire.
The cause of the fire was not known, police said, adding that the crackers were stored for the coming Diwali festival season.
