DMRC Managing Director Mangu Singh oversaw the launch of the 150-ton weight and 27 m long U-girder, which was lifted by two cranes and placed on the viaduct near the proposed Old Faridabad Metro station.
This fully elevated corridor will have nine stations in which a total number of 548 piers and 883 U-Girders will be used. It is likely to be operational by the end of 2014.
This corridor is an extension of the already operational 20.16 km long Central Secretariat-Badarpur corridor of Line -6 which is further extended from Central Secretariat to Kashmere Gate covering 9.36 km.
DMRC Director (Project and Planning), D K Saini and Director (Works), Jitendra Tyagi were also present at the site.
