First skill development centre inaugurated in Jammu

Jammu today got its first Model Skills Development Corporation that aims to impart skill development training to unemployed youth in various job sectors like Beauty Therapists, Sewing Machine Operators, Assistant Electricians, Food & Beverage among others.
Inaugurating the skill development centre in Kunjwani here, BJP MP Jugal Kishore Sharma said, "Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) will transform the skill landscape of the state."
PMKK is an initiative of IL&FS Skills Development Corporation, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and National Skill Development Corporation, an official said.
The Centre will impart training to the umemployed youth of the state in various job sectors like Customer Care Executives, Assistant Beauty Therapists, General Duty Assistants, Assistant Electricians, Food & Beverage - Service Stewards, Sewing Machine Operators among others.
IL&FS Skills has been instrumental in executing various skill development programmes in the state for the past six years.
"Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras will help in transforming the skill landscape by harnessing the power of youth for the development of Jammu and Kashmir, as envisioned by our Prime Minister," Sharma said.
He further stated that PMKK aims at reaching out to all the blocks and villages in the country so as to ensure that all unemployed youth receive adequate skill training in the field of their choice.
