The victim, identified as Laxman Koli, was sailing in his boat 'Daryasagar' along with three other fishermen when the trawler rammed into it around 1.30 pm approximately 18 kms off the coast, police added.
"When the trawler hit the boat, all the four fishermen jumped into the sea. While three of them survived, Koli drowned," police said.
The three others were rescued by other fishermen nearby. Koli's body was later recovered.
The trawler disappeared from the spot after the accident and is yet to be identified, police said.
Further investigation into the case is on, police said.
