Fishermen set ut to sea without valid permit

As many as 563 fishing boats put to sea for fishing without proper permit, Assistant Director of Fisheries Gopinath said today.
Talking to PTI here, he said out of 749 fishing boats, which were registered with the department,only 136 fishing vessel owners ventured into the sea with proper permit around 6am today, while others had left at 3am.
He said action would be initiated against boat owners who did not obtain permit from the department, and their subsidised diesel quota would be cut.
