The accident occurred under the Repura police station limits, around 100 km from the district headquarters, when the victims were returning after attending a marriage ceremony, District Superintendent of Police Riyaz Iqbal told PTI.
Five persons were killed and 10 others sustained injuries, he said, adding the injured persons were rushed to various hospitals.
Among them, three to four seriously injured were taken to Katni district for treatment, he added.
Iqbal said the victims were members of a music band.
