Five members of family die in mishap

Five members of a family, including a baby girl, were killed when their car collided with a lorry here today, police said.
The incident occurred at around 3.40 PM near Renigunta in the district when the car, in which the family was travelling in to Tirumala rammed into the lorry head-on coming from opposite direction, Renigunta Urban Inspector Ramachandra Reddy said.
The victims -- Dayanand Reddy (59), his wife Pramila (54), their son Vishnuvardhan Reddy (32), daughter-in-law Kavitha (27) and baby girl Dhanyasree (1), belonged to Mahabubnagar district in Telangana and were going to Tirumala for tonsuring ceremony, another police official said.

All the persons died on the spot, while driver of the lorry fled from the scene, police said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard and further probe is on.
