Five naxals held in Chhattisgarh's Sukma

Five naxals, three of them from Odisha, were today arrested during a joint search operation in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Sukma district, police said.
The arrest was made from the forests of Tongpal police station limits while the composite squad of District Reserve Guard (DRG) and district force was out on a combing operation, Sukma Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena told PTI.
Those arrested were identified as Dashru Dhruva (20), Gangaram Dhurva (32) and Hadma Madkami (30), all hailing from Malkangiri district of the neighbouring Odisha while two others -- Madkami Somdu (32) and Vetti Sukda (35) belong to Bastar district, he said.

Dashru was active as commander of Chetna Natya Manch (CNM)- the cultural wing of Maoists whereas remaining others were members of Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisan Mazdoor Sanghthan (DAKMS)- a Maoists' frontal outfit, he said.
They all were allegedly involved in the firing on a police party after triggering blast near Mundagadh village in Tongpal area recently on August 7, the SP said.
However, no harm was reported to security forces in that incident, he added.
