Five of family killed in road mishap

Five people, including two children, of a family from Mumbai were killed and three others injured after their car collided with a trailer truck near Sachin town in Surat district today, police said.
The mishap occurred after the front tyre of the Indica car burst hurtling the vehicle in the opposite direction in the path of the truck, they said.
"The family was returning to Mumbai in their Indica car this afternoon after attending a social gathering in Surat. When the vehicle approached Sachin-Palsana Road, one of its front tyres burst following which the vehicle skidded off its course and was rammed by the truck coming from the opposite direction", Sachin city Police Inspector S P Sapra told PTI.

He said the identity of the victims is being established.
All the three injured, including a child, are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Sachin, around 30 kms from Surat city, police said.
