Five-year-old raped in outer Delhi

A five-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her neighbour in Shahbad Dairy area of Outer Delhi last evening, police said.
Dilip (23), a labourer who lives in the same area, has been apprehended after an FIR was lodged in the case.
"The incident happened last evening when the victim's father had gone out for some work. The victim's mother sent her to a nearby shop to buy something from where Dilip took her to a secluded place and raped her," said a senior police official.
As the girl cried, passersby rushed to help her and nabbed the attacker who was trying to flee. A PCR call was made following which a police team rushed to the spot, the official said.

The victim was taken to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital where she underwent a minor surgery and her condition is stated to be stable. An FIR under section 376 of IPC and sections of protection of child from sexual offence (POCSO) has been registered in the case.
Police officials said that they are further investigating the matter.
