Flash flood in Ghaggar river; one drowned, five missing

One youth drowned and five others went missing today in flash flood in Ghaggar river at Haryana's Panchkula district, officials said.
Eight youths, aged between 18 and 20, got down into the river at Kutia area in Kalka sub division when they were carried away by the flash flood, Panchkula Deputy Commissioner S S Phulia said.
While two youths were rescued by farmers from the nearby area, five went missing, Phulia said, adding that the body of another youth was fished out.
Ghagar is flowing in full spate due to heavy rains in neighbouring Himachal Pardesh.
