Flipkart, in collaboration with Intel, launched five tablets under its in-house brand Digiflip Pro on Wednesday. The new range of next-gen tablets - ET 701, XT 811, XT 801, XT 911 and XT 901 - are powered by Intel Atom processors. Priced between Rs 5,999 and Rs 15,999, these will be available only on Flipkart.

The ET 701, priced at Rs 5,999 and available in four variants of pearl white, blue, grey and red, uses only WiFi connectivity. The tablets come with pre-installed Flipkart e-book, and Flipkart and Myntra apps, which customers can use to avail of special offers.

Michael Adnani, vice-president (retail) and head (brand alliances) at Flipkart, said: “These devices are an expansion of our tablet category - and step up on variety and specifications, catering to a range of customer requirements in this segment.”

Sandeep Aurora, director - marketing and market development - at Intel South Asia, said: “We are excited to work with Flipkart to launch these five new tablets, powered by Intel processors, which will deliver a compelling mobile computing experience to consumers.”

Flipkart has made significant strides in the tablet segment and this launch is aimed at making the segment more exciting. “Lately, there has been a dearth of good tablets in the market, especially in the price range under Rs 10,000. And when options get limited, customers suffer. So this is our humble attempt to create more excitement in this segment,” said Pradeep Dodle, senior director (retail) at Flipkart.

Speaking about the tablets, Dodle said: "The seven-inch one (ET-701) is aimed at students and youngsters. It is a reliable gadget for them at this price, and it comes in youthful colours."

The other additions to the Digiflip series - XT 811/XT 801 and XT 911/XT 901 - are focussed at delievering a better entertainment experience.

Speaking about Flipkart's partnership with Intel, Dodle said: "Both Flipkart and Intel are passionate for tablets. Intel has been working extensively on building solutions for tablets. Their (Intel) chips offer a great mix of everything with excellent power management at a great price."
