Flipkart opens new warehouse in UP for faster delivery

E-commerce giant Flipkart today opened a new warehouse at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh, taking its total warehouse strength across the country to 14.

The 30,000 sq.ft. facility will provide customers in Uttar Pradesh with access to large selection of product categories, including TV, refrigerator, washing machine, microwave and A/C, unavailable earlier.

Flipkart said the warehouse has been set up to cater to increased consumer demand from the region and to serve the customers with larger selection of brands and products, enabling quicker deliveries.

The facility currently provides mobiles, cameras, computers and their accessories, besides books, footwear and white goods, the company said in a release.

The company will soon start offering large sports and fitness products like treadmills and gym cycles. Products like home ladder, gas stove, iron board, cloth dryer among others, will also be made available to the customers in UP soon, it said.

Phase one of the operations at the facility will cover Gautam Buddha Nagar, Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Allahabad, Meerut and Aligarh.

Speaking on the occasion, Binny Bansal, COO & Co-founder, Flipkart, said, "This new warehouse will immensely benefit our customers in Uttar Pradesh, by providing them with a larger selection of goods and categories they wish for and make their shopping a seamless experience.
