A six-feet cobra caused a
flutter at the Primary Health Centre at Tiruvalluvar area in Tanakankulam as it entered the hospital and hissed and puffed, raising its hood today.
According to police some of the pregnant women, who got admitted to the hospital for delivery, fainted as they tried to flee the hospital on seeing the snake and collided against each other and fell down.
The doctors rushed to their help and they regained the consciousness.
The panchayat officials said they were taking steps to clear the bushes around the hospital as the cobra had escaped and went into the bushes.
