Dense fog in Rajasthan's adjoining states of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana has delayed eight passenger trains of North Western Railways while Sikar recorded the lowest temperature of 6.2 degrees Celsius last night.
While Bhuj-Bareli train is running 7 hours 40 minutes late, Howrah-Jodhpur train is delayed by 2 hours 20 minutes. Varanasi- Jodhpur and Delhi-Jaisalmer trains are running 1 hours 20 minutes late, NWR CPRO Tarun Jain said.
Mercury is fluctuating by one to three degrees Celsius at most places in the state in last 48 hours as there was a vacuum in the atmosphere due to no particular upper air cyclonic system, an MeT official said.
Churu and Jodhpur both recorded a minimum temperature of 8.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Udaipur 9.2 degrees Celsius, Sriganganagar 9.3 degrees Celsius, Bundi 9.4 degrees Celsius, and Jaipur 9.8 degrees Celsius.
Elsewhere the minimum temperature varied between 10 and 14 degrees Celsius which included Kota and Bikaner, the official stated.
With fresh western disturbance approaching the state, there is likely to be rain or thundershower at isolated places of Rajasthan in the next 24 hours and cold wave may revive, a forecast said.
