Fog slows down Rajdhani, Shatabdi; 66 trains cancelled

Moderate to dense fog disrupted rail services today leading to cancellation of 66 trains and delay of 16 other Delhi-bound rail services including Rajdhani and Shatbadi expresses.
Premier trains including Rajdhani Express coming from Patna, Bhubaneswar, Howrah, Sealdah, Dibrugrah and Kanpur Shatabdi, Howrah Duronto were affected due to bad weather condition.
Departure of three trains including Mahananda and Delhi Sarai Rohilla - Ferozpur Intercity were rescheduled.
There were cancellation of a total of 66 trains including those announced earlier in view of the fog, a senior Northern Railway official said.
The dense fog affected 16 Delhi-bound trains which are running late by two hours to seven hours.
The official said trains move slowly due to the low visibility as the passengers' safety is paramount to railways and loco pilots are being instructed to take every precaution during the fog.
