Figo Aspire, which is expected to hit the roads next month, is one of the three models the company plans to launch over the next nine months.
The car would be launched with both petrol and diesel engines. The company would also roll out petrol-powered automatic transmission variant of Figo Aspire.
"Created specifically for customers in India, the Figo Aspire is a no-compromise compact sedan that will delight Indian customers," Ford India Executive Director, marketing, Sales and Service, Anurag Mehrotra said in a statement.
Ford is determined to make a mark despite fierce competition in the segment, which accounts for nearly 30,000-35,000 cars each month.
With sales of 1.1 million vehicles in 2014, compact car segment share was 45 per cent in India's auto market in 2014.
Ford India has 341 sales and service outlets in 186 cities across the country.
