A Dubai-bound passenger has been detained at the international aiport here for trying to smuggle a bundle of foreign currencies totalling Rs 3.54 lakh that was hidden in the inner pocket of his pants, officials said on Friday.
The officials of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) detected the currencies while frisking the passenger on Thursday.
The currencies included 18,500 Saudi Riyal, 260 UAE Dirham, 100 Bahrain Dinar and Rs 2,200 Indian currency, the officials said.
The passenger, identified as Ulwar, was to travel to Dubai by an Air India flight, sources said, adding that he was handed over to the Customs officers for further action.
