The celebrations which began this morning continued till late afternoon wherein locals applied colours to foreign nationals including at the Azad Maidan here.
"This is one place (Azad Maidan) where people of all faith gather to play Holi. The added attraction are the foreigners who make it a point to gel well with the locals to play colours," said Parag Veluskar, a Panaji resident.
Panaji MLA Siddharth Kuncolienkar, Corporation City of Panaji Mayor Surendra Furtado too took part in the celebrations.
"We don't have to keep high security at Azad Maidan despite the thing that foreigners play Holi here as celebrations here have always been peaceful," police inspector Siddhanth Shirodkar said.
